A SMUGGLER BLEEDS LIKE ANYONE ELSE
HE JUST GETS MORE CHANCES TO PROVE IT
THE STORY
Always one step ahead of the Feds, Paul Boxer is the most inventive and principled smuggler in the trade, and has never needed to carry a gun. When violent mid-level traffickers coerce him into designing a foolproof plan to bring several kilos of cocaine across the México border, he maneuvers to rid himself of their hold over him once and for all. But when a sharp-witted woman from his past enlists his help to escape this rival outfit, Paul must confront the man that is hunting him down, and choose between his livelihood as a smuggler and his integrity as a man.
AUTHENTICITY
Zak Forsman’s father had a brief career in the cocaine trade as an independent smuggler. And what made him unique were the creative methods he used to pull off a dozen scams from South America that were so ingenious that the person carrying the load always had an out – they could walk away free and clear if the cocaine was discovered at Customs. He was uniquely principled for this line of work and always put people first. He died in 1994, but it is his spirit and life lessons that have served as the creative spark behind this new movie. The film rights to "Snowblind" were licensed in perpetuity many years ago. DOWN AND DANGEROUS, however, is an original story with original characters inspired by the same wit, wisdom and smuggling adventures of the filmmaker's father.
PRAISE FOR 'SNOWBLIND'
An extremely rare cut of dry wit, poetry, rock-hard fact and relentless insight. – Rolling Stone
One of the most dazzling and spectacular pieces of reporting I have ever read. – Nora Ephron
A flat-out ballbuster. It moves like a threshing machine with a fuel tank full of ether. – Hunter S. Thompson
PRAISE FOR 'DOWN AND DANGEROUS'
Go get 'em brother! Down and Dangerous looks like the shit! You've got a director's mind and an editor's eye. Lethal! – Joe Carnahan, director of ‘Narc’ and ‘The Grey’
THE CAST
JOHN T. WOODS
He comes off as intelligent, charming, and as someone, ultimately, you’d desperately want on your side no matter how much he pushes you away. That’s charisma. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
He’s a hero who runs toward trouble, not away. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
John is completely gripping to watch from beginning to end. He has this wonderful low-level burn inside him from beginning to end and occasionally when that flame comes out in a moment of clenched tears, you just feel so much for this guy. A truly wonderful flawed anti-hero. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
PAULIE ROJAS
Paulie is exceptionally beautiful and impossible to take your eyes off of. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
Great on screen, a latina Audrey Hepburn… she’s quite engaging. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
Very alluring, her accent is adorable. She’s lovable and vulnerable. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
ROSS MARQUAND
Ross Marquand is a beast! He was so interesting and intense without saying a single word. I was captivated every time he was on screen. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
The actor was a joy to watch. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
JUDD NELSON
Superb. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
Judd Nelson is fucking harsh! – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD

OUR BACKERS
Down and Dangerous began its life as a crowdfunding campaign where 387 friends, family and fans of The Sabi Company's prior films donated nearly $50,000. We went into production a few months later, shooting a script conceived to make the most of our available resources.

Our screen test, featuring the multi-talented Ross Marquand, became an internet sensation having been viewed 639,425 times thanks to postings and articles on Reddit, MSN.com, Break and Andrew Sullivan's blog at The Daily Beast.Audience Feedback
I became so emotionally invested in all of the characters, rooting for Paul and Olivia, and wishing ill of Henry and Rafael. I also have a soft spot for Elliot and Arturo, as they have heavy weights to carry, but they seem like good people. The whole movie flowed smoothly like you were experiencing the story first hand. The visual aspect is a work of art in itself, and everything that you see is purposeful and has meaning to it, without any fluff or useless scenes. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
The last 22 minutes are gangbusters! – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
Watched it twice and enjoyed it even more the second time around!!! – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
Very accomplished! Technically well done and excellent casting… I was entirely invested in it and enjoyed watching it! – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
This movie was SO much goddamn fun to watch. John’s stellar performance matched with incredibly sharp, stylish cinematography along with all the fun location hopping and moving and truly beautiful production design just made the movie totally enthralling. You created a world that’s both fascinating and yet heartbreaking. This is a movie I would watch again and again and both have a really good time watching and yet have it break my heart a little bit each time. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
I was hugely impressed. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
The music is fantastic. I want the score. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
I f'n loved it! Really think you've got a hit on your hands. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
I watched the film twice and was really impressed by the direction and cinematography. Loved the casting, as well. I thought it was superb. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
It is so cool and tense. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
I was like, “Damn that’s sweet.” – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
There’s a lot of subtlety in the directing choices and shot selection. It’s great, it makes the world feel lived in and real. Bravo. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
I was hit with moments of laughter, tears and a few shocks! The surprises were well done, believable and I did not see them coming! – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
This thing moves like a ballbuster! I found myself jumping, cheering, pacing and clapping alone in my apartment. Then, I gave it a 2nd run and was surprised at how many small details I had missed the first time through! I truly believe this is a picture that people will want to see several times! – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
The music fit extremely well with the film. It was well acted by everyone. Gripping story, amazing shots. I loved the lighting. In many ways it did remind me of Michael Mann’s Miami Vice. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
Blown away. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
The action stuff at the end is sick and there’s tons of great looking shots in it. All the actors have some great moments. I love the way you set up John T. Woods’ character – very charming, forgivable mischief – charming rogue stuff. – AUDIENCE COMMENT CARD
